Aren't you trying to get in shape, Bristol? Miss Palin lunches at McDonalds in break from Dancing With The Stars

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Aren't you meant to be getting in shape? Bristol Palin heads to McDonalds after a busy morning rehearsing for Dancing with the Stars in West Hollywood

She spends every day working hard getting into shape for Dancing With The Stars.
But it seems Bristol Palin isn't giving up all her pleasures in the pursuit of success.

The 19-year-old was pictured filling up with a McDonalds in Los Angeles yesterday, buying a large bag of food at the counter.

After a busy morning rehearsing for her upcoming dance performance, she may have felt she deserved a break.

Rather than a greasy burger Bristol chose a salad. Although as any slimmer knows with dressing and toppings salad can still be a fattening choice.

Following her lunch Bristol headed to the tanning salon, to get that golden glow for her next TV performance.

Bristol unexpectedly found fame when she and her then boyfriend Levi Johnson revealed they were expecting a baby while her mother was running as a U.S. vice-presidential candidate in 2008.

Tucking in: At least Bristol chose a salad rather than a burger - lets hope she skipped the dressing

It caused some embarrassment for Sarah Palin, who had always advocated the virtue of no sex before marriage.

But Sarah is now a vocal supporter of Bristol, who is raising her 21-month-old son Tripp as a single mother.

She has been spotted front-row in the Dancing With The Stars audience, cheering her daughter on.

But Sarah's presence led to some controversy when it was misreported that she had been targeted with boos by fellow audience members.

The golden arches: Bristol leaves the restaurant, on her way to a tanning salon

Producers said the boos were instead aimed at the judges for giving a low score to Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough.

Meanwhile a state investigator is checking whether it was legal for Bristol Palin to be in a downtown Anchorage bar last week while dancing partner Mark Ballas performed.

The question is Palin's age, 19. She could only legally be in Rumrunners Old Towne Bar and Grill if accompanied by a parent, spouse or legal guardian over 21.

Getting TV ready: Bristol headed to the tanning salon after her lunch

State law also would allow her to be there if it's been designated as a bona fide restaurant, and she was there only to eat.

The Alaska Dispatch reported that a state Alcohol and Control Board investigator visited their office, asking for copies of raw video shot at Ballas' performance. The request was denied.

An Alaska Department of Public Safety spokeswoman said they never discuss investigations unless someone is charged.

Jamie Lee Curtis shows she still in tip-top shape at 51... in form-fitting tennis outfit

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Looking good: Jamie Lee Curtis steps out in Beverly Hills today in a short and tight tennis outfit, teamed with trainers

Sixteen years after her famous striptease scene in True Lies and Jamie Lee Curtis proves she's still got it.

The award-winning actress was pictured today out and about in Beverly Hills, wearing a form-fitting and very short tennis outfit.

And for a woman of 51-years-old, she was certainly looking in great shape.

Still got it: The 51-year-old actress showed she is still in great shape for her age in the revealing outfit

Curtis won a Golden Globe for her portrayal of Helen Tasker in the 1994 movie True Lies, with her sultry dance routine, performed unwittingly in front of her on-screen husband Arnold Schwarzenegger, marking a career high for the actress.

In recent weeks she has been spotted in the audience of Dancing With The Stars, supporting her actress friend Jennifer Grey.

Curtis turned down an offer to be on the hit ABC show, but seeing her friend in action has seemingly given her second thoughts.

After watching Grey's debut two weeks ago, she told Access Hollywood: 'I won't be able to do it because my family commitments are such that I wouldn't have the time for it.

'I did do some moves in my kitchen all by myself at about 6:30 this morning - like some quick steps and I was like, "Yeah, I've got it!"'
It's funny - it definitely, definitely made me go, "Hmmm."

'I'm not going to, but it was fun to think about it,' she added.
She also plans to continue supporting Grey, a longtime friend, while she competes on the programme.

'I'm hoping to be front row for Team Jennifer every week if I can. I'm going to try to.'

Doting dad to be: Orlando Bloom puts protective hands round Miranda Kerr as they stroll through Paris

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Doting dad: Orlando places some protective hands around his new wife Miranda Kerr as they shopped in Paris earlier today

If he is this protective with his unborn child he is sure to make a great father.

Orlando Bloom made sure his new wife, Miranda Kerr was taken care of as they wandered through the streets of Paris earlier today enjoying a spot of shopping.

The 27-year old Australian supermodel and the 33-year-old British actor married back in July before announcing in August that Miranda was four-months pregnant.

Blooming marvelous: Miranda looks gorgeous in skinny jeans

The now six-months-pregnant Kerr, who is a Victoria's Secret spokesmodel looked stunning in skinny jeans and a patterned t-shirt which hid her barely visible bump.

Her face looked radiant behind Ray-ban sunglasses and a fixed smile was on her face as the pair browsed through various Parisian boutiques near to their hotel.

The couple have been enjoying some time in the City of Light after a brief trip to Spain to attend some Milan Fashion Week events.

Miranda debuted her new baby bump earlier this week on the red carpet at the P&G Prestige And Vogue: The Scent Of The Future cocktail party.

Wearing a short black Prada cocktail dress she showed off her small bump as she posed for pictures with her doting husband.

The pair had arrived in Milan on Friday after flying in from Germany where Orlando has been shooting his new film The Three Musketeers.

Bloom plays the Duke of Buckingham in the swashbuckling movie alongside Milla Jovovich.

In an interview shortly before the couple got married, Kerr said she always knew Bloom would make a brilliant father.

Look of love: The couple have been making time for each othr despite busy work schedules

She said: 'I’ve always thought Orlando would be a great dad.

'I've always wanted kids, so someday, eventually, yes, it will happen.

'My ideal situation would be to live on a farm in a solar-powered house with a hammock and a vegetable patch.'

Bloom also spoke about the pregnancy, saying: 'I'm really excited about it, it's great.'

Referring to the fact that he could be away for much of Kerr's pregnancy, Bloom added: 'I'll go home as often as possible. She'll come out here too.'

How uplifting: The bra that can be converted into a life-saving face mask

By JODY THOMPSON

Bosom buddy: Dr Elena Bodnar demonstrates her Emergency Bra at the MIT Museum in Cambridge, Massachusetts, last night

An 'emergency bra' has been created by a Ukrainian scientist that can be turned into a facemask to protect against lethal chemical attacks or biological hazards.

The uplifting garment can be worn as intended then easily removed, separated into two and converted into two face masks that filters out harmful airborne substances - one for the wearer, and for a needy by-stander - or onlooker.

According to the inventor, Ukranian scientist Dr Elena Bodnar, it doesn't matter what your cup size is either as the masks are fully-adjustable to give the same level of protection.

Litt and separate: Dr. Elena watches as a volunteer demonstrates dividing the two cups in the first stage of mask making

The Associated Press reports that Dr Bodnarm, who's now based in Chicago, initially got her idea after the 1986 Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

She explained: 'If people had had cheap, readily available gas masks in the first hours after the disaster...they may have avoided breathing in Iodine-131, which causes radiation sickness.'

She also claims the brassiere could be useful in the event of biological terrorist attacks.

In their cups: The doctor places a face mask on Gus Rancatore, as John Durant, Director of the MIT Museum, watches

Va va kaboom: The bra is said to be able to withstand airborne chemical and biological agents from terrorist attacks

Explaining how the garment works, she expanded:'To use the bra-mask, the wearer unsnaps the brassiere from under her shirt, which breaks it in two.

'Because each cup has hooks on its side, the strap is wrapped around the head and hooked to the cup, which goes over the mouth.'

Apparently, with practice, the bra can be whipped off and the mask effectively put on in seconds.

She added that bra-mask could be also be used during such disasters as fires, dust storms or a swine flu outbreak.

She said: 'You have to be prepared all the time, at any place, at any moment, and practically every woman wears a bra.'

There might be a 'counterpart device for men', Bodnar added, although it was not clear in what shape or form it would take.

Bra-vellous: The life-saving brassiere is now onsale to well-prepared lingerie fans

Red alert: Break bras in case of emergency

The invention was first acknowledged at the 2009 Ig Nobel Prize awards, a spoof of the actual Nobel Prize, which acknowldge 10 scientific achievements that 'first make people laugh, and then make them think'.

It's organized by the U.S. scientific humour magazine Annals of Improbable Research and judged by actual Nobel laureates.

In her Ig acceptance speech, she joked: 'It takes only 25 seconds for average woman [sic] to use this personal protective device. Five seconds to remove, convert and apply your own mask, and 20 seconds to wonder who the lucky man is she is going to save.'

However, it only launched earlier this week after a year firming up 'safety engineering, economical design, and aesthetics'.

Dr Bodnar unveiled her life-saving lingerie at the MIT Museum in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Monday.

Primark tells breastfeeding mother: 'Do that in the changing room or get out of the shop'

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Angry: Aimee Edwards with four week-old son George. She was apparently told by a Primark worker that her breast-feeding was offending other customers

A young mother breast-feeding her baby was ordered into a changing room at High Street chain Primark.

Aimee Edwards, 24, was feeding four-week-old George when a worker told her to use the changing room - or leave the store.

The married mother-of-four was so angry that she left her shopping and walked out.

Mrs Edwards said: 'A woman shop assistant said if I wanted to breastfeed I had to go in the changing rooms or leave the store.

'She said it was offending other customers, but there were hardly any other shoppers near me.

'I thought she was joking at first as I have never had a problem in any other shop before.'

Mrs Edwards was shopping with her husband Ben and their children Ruby, three, and Morgan, 20 months, when baby George needed feeding.

Mrs Edwards said: 'It's natural for a mum to feed her baby. Why should people feel offended? It's not as if they can see anything.

'I don't see why I should have to hide it. I was with my daughter and I want her to grow up thinking it is a natural part of life.

'I should not be made to feel ashamed. If that's their attitude then I don't know if I want to shop in a place like that.

'I have breast-fed all my children and I have never had this reaction. I don't even think about doing it now after having four children.'

Mrs Edwards from Bridgend, South Wales, was in the Swansea branch of the discount clothes store when the row broke out.

She said: 'I put my shopping down and left the store.

'I think it's disgusting that I was doing something natural and I was faced with an ultimatum.

'If people don't like it then don't look. As campaigns say "breast is best", and then you get this kind of reaction.'

A spokesman for Primark, which has 143 stores across the UK, told Mail Online that the company had 'taken steps to ensure breastfeeding is better understood by all employees'.

'A supervisor in Primark Swansea approached a customer who was breastfeeding in the store and offered her the use of a fitting room cubicle which she felt would be more comfortable and would afford some privacy,' said the spokesman.

'Unfortunately, she inadvertently caused offence to the customer who mistakenly perceived that she was not welcome to breastfeed in the store.

'It was not the supervisor's intention to cause any offence - rather to offer assistance.

'However, we sincerely regret any upset that this incident may have caused and have taken steps to ensure that the company policy on breastfeeding is better understood by all Primark employees.

'Primark customers are welcome to breastfeed whilst shopping in our stores should they wish to do so. If any customer requires privacy for this purpose, every effort will be made to accommodate this request where possible.'

Jamie Oliver turns the heat on children of celebrities

By BEN TODD

Happy family: Jamie Oliver, who became a father for the fourth time earlier this month with the birth of his son Buddy Bear, had some choice words for the children of celebrities

He has become renowned in recent years for his blunt speaking, usually when it comes to the nation's eating habits.

Now, though, Jamie Oliver has turned his fire on a rather different target – attacking the children of celebrities.

Indeed, he has labelled the siblings of the rich and famous ‘little s**ts.

He revealed: ‘I think few children of famous people succeed. Most of them are little s**ts.'

Oliver, 35, who became a father for the fourth time earlier this month when his wife gave birth to their son Buddy Bear, also said he worried how his children will deal with the pressures of his fame as they grew older.

And the chef - who is estimated to be worth £65 million - even claimed his own children were unlucky to have him as a dad.

He said: ‘I think my kids are always going to be labelled as ‘Jamie’s child’ so they will need to learn to work harder than anyone else. They just can’t be anonymous – they’re always going to be judged.’

Lucky: Oliver managed to find one exception, Sir Paul McCartney’s fashion designer daughter Stella (pictured left)

He continued: ‘I think my children are very lucky – apart from having me as a dad. That probably won’t be a great thing.’

However, Oliver felt there was one notable celebrity exception. He cited Sir Paul McCartney’s daughter Stella, who is a prominent fashion designer in her own right despite being the daughter of the most successful pop composer in history .

He said: ‘I think Stella McCartney’s an exception. That would be nice if they [his children] could be independent and creative and happy like that, but we’ll see.
'That’s what you have to do as a parent- help them find their thing, their mojo,' he added in an interview in Hello magazine.

Oliver and Jools, 35, have four children, son Buddy Bear and three daughters Poppy Honey, eight, Daisy Boo, seven, and 17-month-old Blossom Rainbow .

They split their time between a house in Primrose Hill in North West London and a country home near Saffron Walden, Essex.

His comments come after he was involved in controversy last week. Then he was photographed appearing to hold Buddy Bear, who is just 14 days old [15/09], in - seemingly - the wrong manner.

He was seen carrying the youngster on one arm as he looked around the shops in North London and spoke on his mobile phone.

And contrary to guidance, the newborn's head appeared to loll alarmingly unsupported. Meanwhile, Oliver seemed remarkably unaware.

Subsequently one expert warned of the dangers of holding a child incorrectly.
Dr Ian Campbell said: 'None of us are perfect and we have all been in Jamie's situation at some point, but supporting the head of a newborn baby is a basic principle. Until a child is six weeks old they have got virtually no control of their heads. They are very vulnerable in the first few weeks and it is important to always hold them with two hands and not be distracted.'

However, Oliver’s spokesman insisted the star was not in the wrong. He said: 'Jamie is fully aware of the need to support the baby's head and does so, as most fathers would. Having had four children, he does know the rules.'

Big Brother winner Josie bids to shift her spare tyre with TWO personal trainers

By SARAH BULL

Put through her paces: Big Brother 11 winner Josie Gibson undergoes a gruelling workout in London

She won Big Brother viewers over with her bubbly personality and down-to-earth attitude.

But it seems Josie Gibson, who was crowned the winner of the 11th series of the reality show, wants a figure that will fit in on the celebrity circuit.

The Size 16 Bristolian, 25, has embarked on a new regime to lose her spare tyre - and such is her determination she is using two personal trainers.

Dressed in a tight black and blue workout outfit, Josie was seen taking part in an energetic workout and taking on an obstacle course in a London park.

Tough: The 25-year-old Bristolian is hoping to shed her excess pounds and slim down from a size 16 to a 12

While her housemates, and boyfriend John James, accepted Josie for who she was during her time in the house, she admitted she felt 'a little bit insecure' about her size and wanted to join a gym when she left the reality TV show.

But despite the photographs of Josie exercising could be misinterpreted as a way for her to sell a fitness DVD when she has slimmed down, she insists she doesn't want to follow in the footsteps of stars including Natalie Cassidy by shedding weight and then putting it back on.

Limbering up: Josie stretched ahead of starting her workout in a London park last week

Showing off some moves: Josie appeared to be dancing with her trainer, having kicked off her trainers to give herself more mobility

She said in a recent interview: 'I couldn’t be one of those size zero women. It wouldn’t suit me. I’d like to be a comfortable 12. But not any smaller.

'You see all these stars and they lose all that weight and it just doesn’t suit them. Take Natalie Cassidy, I think she looks better when she’s got all her curves.

'You’ve got to be the size you are comfortable with and I am a womanly woman. I am a little bit insecure about it.

Giggles: Josie couldn't stop laughing as she tried to do a set of press ups with her TWO trainers

Struggling: While Josie looked as though she was struggling at points, she kept a smile on her face throughout

'I want to lose a little bit of weight - but I love a nice curry, that’s my downfall. I love Jamaican food, a nice bit of curried goat.'

However, Josie's boyfriend John James said despite her admitting one of the reasons she wants to lose weight is to please him, the Australian is adamant he loves Josie however she looks.

He said recently: 'I couldn’t care less what Josie weighs. I love her just the way she is. It’s up to her completely.'

Watch and learn: Josie looks deep in concentration as her trainers talk her through one difficult move

Careful, Josie! The Big Brother winner nearly slips as she does a pull up while holding onto a metal bar

But it's not only a punishing exercise regime Josie wants to stick to - she has also embarked on a strict diet.

Writing on her Twitter page earlier this week, Josie told fans: 'I'm on detox for 6 months', before adding: 'Just had fitness training. Hard work but loving it!!'

However, Josie is struggling somewhat with the food she is allowed to eat, tweeting: 'Mmmmmmm my fav bit of curry goat or brown stew chicken right up my street. Thai food and caribbean food is me fav mmmmm (sic).'

And stretch: Josie and her trainers relax as they cool down at the end of their vigorous workout

Balancing: Josie's trainer ensures she is completing the move properly as she stretches her hamstring

She then added: 'Is dyin for a chocolate bar but on a diet. X x x x'
And, continuing her health kick, Josie is also attempting to quit smoking, and has cut down to just one or two a day.

Meanwhile, Josie's relationship with John James is going from strength to strength.
John James admitted in OK! magazine that he is thrilled to have proved is critics wrong and is already planning how he can take their relationship to the next level.

Giggles: Josie appeared to be enjoying herself during the workout, laughing and dancing with her trainer

Bubbly: Josie won over viewers with her bubbly personality when she appeared on Big Brother

He said: 'I want to take her to Paris and get to the top of the Eiffel Tower with the whole city laid out beneath us and propose to her there. And if she says no, I can jump off the top!'

John James, is planning to move in with Josie in the near future, also said he can't believe how lucky he is to have found his soulmate in the Big Brother house.

He added: 'We think alike, me and Josie. We're the same in our different ways. We just realise it all the time, how alike we are are. Apart from the fact that I am tidy and she is messy.'

In love: Josie with boyfriend John James at the Big Brother 11 wrap party earlier this month

The actress has been linked romantically to her co-star Oliver Martinez after pictures surfaced of the two of them holding hands and kissing, off set, in Paris.

Halle split from Nahla's father, Canadian model Gabriel Aubry earlier in the year, but the two have maintained a close relationship for the sake of their daughter.

Both marriages ended badly, among accusations of infidelity, made on Berry's behalf, and the actress has since sworn she will never marry again.

It was recently announced that Berry will next be working on Cloud Atlas, also starring Tom Hanks and Natalie Portman.

The movie, based on the 2004 novel by David Mitchell, encompasses six different stories that are all linked together.

Big Brother's Chanelle Hayes is one proud mother as she posts baby's photo album on Twitter

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Mother and child: Chanelle Hayes posed for this Twitter picture with her son Blakely, who was born in July

Former Big Brother star Chanelle Hayes has proudly posted her baby's photo album on Twitter.

The 22-year-old, who appeared on the reality TV show in 2007, gave birth to her son Blakely in July and is sharing his progress with her online followers.

One picture shows the boy sound asleep on the former glamour model's chest, while others show him in a series of cute portraits.

And she gushes over Blakely in her tweets too, saying: 'I lovvvvvvve him more than anything ever.'

But she hints that her relationship with the baby's father, footballer Matthew Bates, is coming under severe strain.

Baby love: Chanelle gushes over her son in a series of tweets

The pair split just three months into her pregnancy and now it seems tensions are running high between the parents.

One recent message reads: 'Still awake watching B sleep...its such a shame he's been born into a world full of arguments and hostility wen he deserves the world :-('

Sleeping soundly: Blakely's father is footballer Matthew Bates

Chanelle, who famously shared an ill-fated on-screen romance with Ziggy Lichman while in the Big Brother house, is believed to be single.

She dumped former boyfriend Jack Tweed, 23, a month before the birth after he refused to stop partying and is determined to succeed as a solo parent.

After allegedly giving him an ultimatum between her and his wild ways, it seems partying came first to Jack, who was on trial for rape earlier this year, of which he was later cleared.

The widower of Jade Goody also revealed that he was unaware Chanelle was pregnant when they first started dating but happily continued seeing her after finding out.

Christina Aguilera looks curvier than ever as she piles on the pounds in just THREE MONTHS

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Candy girl: Christina Aguilera arrived at the LACMA event in Los Angeles Saturday revealing her much fuller figure in a flowing white dress

She's was once famed for her tight abs and toned body.

But last night Christina Aguilera showed off a very different figure, looking curvier than ever in a form-fitting gown at a glitzy Los Angeles party.

What's surprising is how quickly the singer, known for yo-yoing in weight, has piled on the pounds.

Swell: Christina has piled on at least a stone in the past few months making her once svelte figure a thing of the past

Only in June the 29-year-old mother of one was was pictured performing at an NBA Finals game in LA and was in great shape.

And back in January she was even skinnier, looking rail thin as she attended a party in Las Vegas with friend Nicole Richie.

But over the past few months the star has ballooned. She now has a much curvier physique and fuller face, appearing to be the heaviest she's ever been, barring her pregnancy in 2008.

Changing shapes: Christina's stomach protrudes in her evening gown last night and pictured, right, at a party in Las Vegas in January looking stick thin

Christina is currently filming the musical Burlesque in which she plays a small-town girl who ventures to LA and finds her place in a neo-burlesque club run by a former dancer - played by Cher.

A source told MailOnline: 'It's bizarre Christina has put on so much weight as she's been doing lots of dancing and high energy work for Burlesque.'

The insider added: 'The whole movie is choreography and she was very active so I'm
surprised she's piled on the pounds so quickly'.

As an estimation, it looks as if Christina has piled on at least a stone over the past three months.

Round: The Beautiful singer's face looks very full and her cheeks have filled out

She was pictured last night strutting the red carpet at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art gala in a cream halter dress with a diamond shape design at the waist.

Christina married music executive Jordan Bratman in 2002 and gave birth to son Max in 2008.

She lost all of her baby weight in just four months and spoke at the time of her 'sense of accomplishment' at losing 40lbs.

Christina's weight has been up and down over the years. She has admitted that she finds food comforting.

Yo-yo: Pictured, left in June still looking slim, although slightly fuller figured than in January and, right, bursting out of a tight pink dress back in 2003

She told People magazine: 'When I first got engaged, I gained weight. We call it the 'love chub'.

After a long hiatus from singing Christina released her fourth studio album Bionic but the record failed to impress and wasn't a hit with critics.

She also cancelled plans for a summer tour earlier this year which was rumoured to be because of poor ticket sales.

The facelift is old hat, the tummy tuck's yesterday's news - the latest craze is the bum lift

By LEAH HARDY

Prize asset: Kim Kardashian (left) and Jennifer Lopez are known for their shapely derrieres, now more and more women are having surgery on their buttocks

Cosmetic surgeons may be worrying about business dropping due to the recession, but one Miami-based surgeon is actually pinning his hopes on the market ‘bottoming’ out.

His name is Constantino Mendieta and he’s the inventor of the Miami Thong Lift, the latest way to a shapelier rear view, which was presented this week at the conference of British Aesthetic and Plastic surgeons (BAAPS) in London.

According to Mendieta, a Harvard-educated surgeon who learned his techniques in plastic surgery-obsessed Brazil, there’s been a steady rise in numbers of women seeking a curvier bottom, like that of Miami’s famous resident J-Lo.

He also says five per cent of his Thong Lift clients in Florida are from Britain, and he expects demand to grow.

‘Buttock enhancement is instinctively attractive to men,’ he says. ‘Women are wearing tighter clothes and, if you wear a thong bikini on the beach, nothing is left to the imagination.’

Previously, the standard way to create a rounder, higher bottom was with silicone implants, similar to those used for breast enlargement.

But as top plastic surgeon Rajiv Grover, president–elect of BAAPS, explains, these could be risky.

‘Implants have a tendency to move and, if they get infected, they have to be surgically removed.’

So instead, Mendieta uses grafts of fat liposuctioned from the thighs or stomach, purified and then painstakingly injected — using a large needle — into the layers of muscle of the buttocks, changing their shape from flat to super-curvy and high, like Beyonce’s behind.

The difference between this is and other sorts of fat augmentation is that the
surgeon injects fat between layers of muscle, so there is more blood supply to the fat and less of it dies.

The scars left by the incisions needed to inject the fat are hidden, says Mendieta, ‘in the grand canyon where the thong goes’, hence the name of the procedure.

If patients are very slim, he sends them away to gain enough fat for the procedure.
Because the fat belongs to the patient, there is no risk of rejection. The procedure will take several hours and can be done under a local anaesthetic.

Grover says there are advantages to fat transfer over other procedures, such as injections of a new thick hyaluronic filler called Macrolane, which has been promoted in the UK as the best way to create a rounder bottom. ‘Macrolane is temporary and, in some patients, may only last six months,’ he warns. By contrast — and this may or may not be an advantage — fat is permanent.

‘Fat also contains stem cells which can turn into new tissue, so fat transfer creates new collagen which improves the skin’s texture and thickness.’

But he warns the procedure is not risk-free. ‘It needs to be done by a very experienced surgeon, in a hospital, in sterile conditions with good aftercare — if you get an infection it could cause a very large abscess.’

Rear view: Women want perfectly pert curves and they're resorting to surgery to change the shape of their bottom from flat to super-curvy and high

Grover also points out that fat transfer is never 100 per cent predictable and some transferred fat will die.

‘Fat transfer is most successful when used in small quantities, as it needs to be surrounded by healthy tissue so it develops its own blood supply. Without that it will die and be re-absorbed by the body.

‘If this happens unevenly, you could end up with one buttock larger than the other. There will also be bruising and swelling that can last for months.

‘You will have serious hips for some time after the procedure.’

But will British women really be flocking to have fatter bottoms? Dr Ayam Al Ayoubi, a Harley Street cosmetic doctor, says: ‘I have seen a 50 per cent increase in demand for Macrolane in the bottom, though it is normally South American or Afro-Caribbean women wanting it done, as the look is desirable in their cultures.

‘But Macrolane is a bit disappointing as it doesn’t last as long as we hoped and it is an expensive treatment. I have seen a greater demand for bottom lifting — as opposed to buttock enhancement — and I achieve that with a laser to tighten the skin, a little bit of Macrolane filler and some radio frequency to smooth the skin, which gives amazing results.’

Mendieta insists his Thong Lift is ‘about having a shapelier bottom, not a bigger
bottom’, but visitors to his website (buttsbymendieta.com) might disagree. Before-and-after pictures show a startling transformation from a Keira Knightley rear view, to something approximating a couple of beach balls in a thong.

Cosmetic surgeon Angelica Kavouni, who has performed buttock enhancements in the UK, says: ‘I have done fat transfers, but never on this scale — these bottoms are huge.’
To harvest enough fat to transfer on this scale, patients would have to be a size 14, she warns. ‘What I usually see are size six or eight girls who want big bottoms — this is unrealistic.’

Although the cost of surgery is not cheap — around £8,850 — maybe the Bridget Joneses among us may soon be asking: ‘Does my bum look big enough in this?’

Incredibly thin Emma Rigby shows off her tiny waist in skin-tight bodysuit

By JESSICA SATHERLEY

Incredibly thin: Hollyoaks' actress Emma Rig by was looking frail in Manchester last night

Former Hollyoaks’ actress Emma Rigby looked a shadow of her former self when stepping out in Manchester last night.

Despite having just left San Carlos restaurant, the blonde beauty, who is famed for her role as Hannah Ashworth on the soap, looked as if she hadn’t eaten a thing.

The 20-year-old exposed her frail frame in a skin-tight green bodysuit and beige loose trousers, which only accentuated her tiny waist.

Emma has always been slim but her recent appearance has sparked concern that she’s dropped a significant amount of weight.

Since leaving Hollyoaks in January, she has been trying to extend her acting repertoire and perhaps thinks that losing weight will help her career.

Despite allegedly thinking of moving to Los Angeles for Hollywood roles, she most recently starred in West End show Wolfboy.

Expanding career: Emma's waistline might be shrinking but her career is growing and she recently starred in a West End musical playing a nurse

Her three-week run in the play ended at the beginning of August and she received mainly positive reviews from critics.

Speaking of her role as nurse Cherry in the thriller musical, she said: ‘It’s a very different role.

‘I play a nurse, and there are four people in the play in total. I’m loving it and it’s a new challenge and I can’t wait to get on to the stage.

‘TV’s very different. I’m really enjoying theatre. When you’ve played something for five years it’s so refreshing to have a change and to work with different people.’

Last night she finished off her look with her trademark backcombed beehive.
